Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry is booked for the rest of the year and we do not have any more appointment slots. Our “cancellation reservation list” where patients may be placed onto a list just in case someone cancels is also way too long to recommend adding any additional patients to the list. We recommend patients make appointments via our online calendar for the month of January. We apologize for this.

Our upcoming holiday hours:

Thanksgiving: We will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for Thanksgiving from November 27 to November 29, 2025. We are always closed Sundays. We will be opened once again Monday December 1, 2025.

Christmas: We will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and return to open status on December 26th. We will be closed January 1, 2026 (we are always closed Thursdays).

July 1, 2025: Please see our August 20, 2024 post for context. Glasses wait times have increased to an avg of 3-5 weeks for complex jobs (with lots of options such as progressive/antiglare/transitions/backside antiglare/polarized, etc) especially if ordered using insurance. We apologize for these wait times but it is due to a combination of factors beyond our control. The large VSP lab closure, tariffs and global supply chain reroutings, vacation season, hurricane/tornado season (lots of labs and the optical manufacturing facilities operate in hurricane/tornado alley) have resulted in a perfect storm of longer wait times for glasses. We apologize for these inconveniences and we are doing everything we can to improve these processes. But we ask our patients for grace as we traverse these slightly more difficult times together.

April 19, 2025: We opened in the beginning of 2020 and through the wild $2 trillion stimulus package passed by Congress in 2020 and the $1 trillion stimulus package passed by Congress in 2021 to fight COVID and the economic impact, we never raised prices on eyewear, eyewear lenses, or services. Due to TINY margins and price rises from our distributors, we had to raise prices on contact lenses nearly on a monthly basis, however. As a result of 2025 tariffs, we are implementing our first round of price rises on eyewear and eyewear lenses that will be implemented in the coming months. We will continue to provide the best eyewear and eyecare in this region and source the best products for our patients. These price rises will begin in May 2025 and are expected to be about 10-15% rises from our prices that have always remained the same since 2020. The prices of exams and services will remain the same. We apologize for these price rises but they are out of our control.

08/20/2024: On August 15, 2024, VSP announced they will begin winding down operations of their in-house insurance lab located in Sacramento, California as well as nearly all of their labs in the United States. We will begin transitioning all of our VSP patient glasses jobs to private labs contracted with VSP. We do NOT foresee a good outcome as this transition takes place and will be finalized on November 1, 2024. We do expect increased turnaround times for VSP patients who order glasses (we have already begun to see a small increase in turnaround times for our patients but expect even more delays in the future). There will be NO impact to VSP patients who order contact lenses. We apologize for these inconveniences.

When we opened our office in 2020, VSP was just finishing their shutting down of labs in Oregon, Utah, and Southern California and consolidating those responsibilities to the Sacramento lab. We at Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry have never been slaves to “Productivity.” Doing more with less has never been a guiding philosophy at our office. Although this transition will allow more “competition” in the marketplace, the large amount of VSP jobs will inundate many of these small private labs. The industry as a whole will be doing more with less.
